Rear support or full support?

A rear-support chair like this one is for dogs whose front end is still strong: they hold themselves up at the front while the chair does the work of weak or unsteady back legs. A full-support (quad) chair supports both ends, and is the better choice for dogs who are wobbly up front too, or living with a neurological condition. And here's the clever part: if your dog's front legs weaken later, you won't need a whole new chair. A front-wheel attachment converts this rear chair into a full quad.

Is a wheelchair right for my dog?

A wheelchair gives dogs back their favourite thing: moving under their own steam. Owners choose one for hind-limb weakness, IVDD, degenerative myelopathy, arthritis, hip dysplasia, recovery after surgery, amputation, or simply the wobbles of older age. A few honest notes: introduce the chair gradually and supervise early sessions, your dog should be able to hold their head up comfortably, and dogs who are weak at the front as well usually need full support rather than rear-only. How it works

The chair arrives sized to the options you pick, then fine-tunes with simple push buttons: height, length and width all adjust in seconds, no tools needed. Your dog's back legs rest in soft, washable leg rings while the frame carries their weight, so they power along with their strong front legs and steer themselves wherever the sniffs lead. When the adventure's over, the frame folds flat for the car boot, and every fabric part goes in the wash.

How the sizing works

Two things decide your dog's setup, and it helps to know why:

Wheel size is set by weight. Lighter dogs use the smaller wheel. Heavier dogs need the larger wheel, which acts as ballast and keeps the frame planted when your dog turns or breaks into a trot. Put a heavier dog on the small wheel and the frame becomes tall and tippy, and the wheels wear out fast.

Strut length is set by rear leg height. The strut is the upright that carries the wheel. Because the larger wheel also lifts the frame, the same leg length appears in both weight bands paired with a different strut.

That's why the dropdown pairs a leg measurement with a weight. Find your dog's weight first, then the leg length within that band. If your dog sits near a weight boundary, message us and we'll confirm the right setup rather than let you guess.

Size Guide

Measure the rear leg height to the toe pad with your dog lying down, leaving a natural bend in the leg, and weigh your dog. The options below are exactly what you'll see in the dropdown above.

You'll notice the tallest setup (23-33cm legs) stops at 5.9kg rather than 6.4kg. That's deliberate: at full extension the frame stands at its tallest, so the weight limit comes down slightly to keep it steady. Heavier dogs with long back legs go onto the larger wheel with a shorter strut instead, which fits the same leg length far more securely.
